If you are an NDIS participant going through your housing journey and would like support from others with similar experiences, this group is for you!

The Facebook NDIS Housing Peer Support Group is hosted and moderated by the Housing Hub admin team. They are also NDIS participants with personal experience obtaining NDIS funding and finding a suitable home.

This project has had some of its funding provided by the NDIS through the Home and Living Demonstration Projects grant.

Group rules

1. Be kind and courteous

It is everyone's responsibility to help create a welcoming environment, so please treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.

2. No hate speech or bullying

Everyone in this group must feel safe. Bullying of any kind is not allowed and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.

3. Respect everyone’s privacy

Being a part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make peer groups great but they may also be sensitive and private. What is shared in this group should stay in the group unless permission is granted.

4. Posts must be on-topic

Please make sure that posts in this group are relevant to NDIS housing. Anything not related will be removed.

5. No promotions, advertisements or spam

Give more than you take in this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links are not allowed and should be reported to admin.

6. No unsolicited private messages

You must ask for permission before private messaging anyone from this group.

7. Please do not use background features in posts

They are inaccessible to people who use vision devices, text-to-talk, or have sensory sensitivity and are generally difficult to read. Posts with backgrounds will be removed.

8. Use of anonymous post feature

Anonymous posts will only be approved if they require anonymity, for example, if any risks are identified for a participant or poster. This is to encourage transparency and peer sharing within the group.

9. Accuracy of information

We encourage everyone to participate and respond to each other’s questions. Because of this, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of information provided by other users. You agree that Housing Hub will not be liable to you for any loss or damage you may suffer from using this group, including through errors/omissions in the information provided, any offensive or illegal behaviour by other users, and/or your use or reliance upon any information, links and/or linked websites provided in this group.

10. Your personal information

Your personal information, including your username, is collected for the primary purpose of enabling you to use the group. We may also use your information to help us understand if the group is providing value, including determining the number of users, the number of times that users log into the group, and the time that users spend reading and responding to posts. Your personal information is protected by law, including the Privacy Act 1988.

11. Access to this group

We may immediately terminate or suspend your registration to this group, and/or remove any of your posts if we determine that you have breached any of these rules, or we believe that information you have provided is incorrect, misleading and/or harmful to another user.
