The Housing Hub and the Summer Foundation have worked with people with disability, supporters and providers to create a great new set of tools. These tools aim to help people living in supported accommodation to understand their rights, make complaints, and raise issues with NDIS providers. These free workshops will show you how to use these new tools.

These free workshops are for people with disability. A family member or other support person may attend with you. They are not for Housing Providers or other disability sector professionals.

Workshop: Service Agreements - what am I signing?

Service agreements are a contract you sign with an NDIS provider about the housing or support (or other services) they are going to provide for you. How do you make sure that a service agreement is going to work for you?

Join us to learn about:

  • A guide that explains how service agreements work, and how you can make sure that what is important to you is included in your service agreement
  • A handy tool to guide your conversations with providers
  • An NDIS Glossary, that explains all the words people use when talking about housing and support for people with disability
  • Join the Housing Hub team, after the workshop to ask questions about the resources for NDIS housing problems.

Workshop: How should shared support work in my NDIS Housing?

In your home, you may share some, or all of your support with other people. Shared support can be set up in different ways. The support you are paying for must work for you and the way you want to live your life.

Join us to learn about:

  • The different ways shared support can work
  • What your rights are when it comes to shared support
  • What a Tenant Advisory Committee is, and how to go about setting one up if you think it might be right for your home
  • A ‘Knowledge Builder’, that assists you to build your knowledge when it comes to shared support
  • Join the Housing Hub team, after the workshop to ask questions about the resources for NDIS housing problems.

Workshop: Who is responsible for what in my NDIS Housing?

When you have a problem in your home, who do you need to ask to get it fixed? And what do you do if they’re not listening to you?

Join us to learn about:

  • A handy template for you to use to keep track of who is responsible for what in your home
  • A step-by-step chart that shows you what to do next if someone isn’t taking your problem seriously
  • A ‘Knowledge Builder’, that assists you to build your knowledge when it comes to roles and responsibilities in NDIS housing
  • How a positive culture makes it easier to give/receive feedback and get problems solved
  • Join the Housing Hub team, after the workshop to ask questions about the resources for NDIS housing problems.
